We are proud to announce the launching of our most exciting expansion to the Myers Park Rugby Club. This year, we are kicking off the inaugural season of our Girls' program. We currently have over 20 girls who are very serious about playing rugby for our club, and we are now recruiting to increase our roster size to at least 30 girls committed to building a Championship Club. Please bring all paperwork to Wednesday's practice (October 29), including your CIPP number and confirmation receipt from USA Rugby. Go to www.usarugby.org, click on membership, and follow the steps. The cost to join is $20 each year. You cannot play rugby in the U.S. without a CIPP number.
Dues must be paid Wednesday as well. Please bring your check in the amount of $160 made payable to Myers Park Rugby Club. If this presents a financial burden for you at this time, please give me a call at 704/953-1394 as soon as possible. Until we have everyone's paperwork, we do not have contact information for all of our players. Please forward this information to your teammates.
Your new team t-shirts are ready and will be distributed at Wednesday's practice. Uniforms will be ordered this Thursday morning.
Saturday's clinic will pick up the pace to prepare you for competition. Please make every effort to attend practice on Wednesday and Saturday's clinic. Starting Monday, November 3, our practice schedule changes to Mondays and Wednesdays immediately after school. We will play matches on Saturdays, and we are trying to get as many preseason matches as possible before Christmas. These scrimmages will be great learning experiences and prepare you for the regular season. Our first counting match is February 9.
